May (Recipient) whether Pierpont would mind if his letter to Recipient is shown to a few people, including Writer’s father and William Lloyd Garrison, and asks Recipient to get the poet’s permission to do so. Writer talks about his trip and the health of Recipient’s son, Joseph, whom he met while visiting Recipient’s house.
