New Orleans: Harold Holmes (C) the vociferous leader of the Black Panther affiliated group barricaded in a unit of the Desire Housing Project, was arrested 11/25 as he and four carloads of sympathizers tried to leave the city. The group had been involved in a legal battle over the constitutionality of the state's criminal trespass law, following a move by the police to evict them forcefully. Police reportedly kept their eyes on four autos rented by actress-activist Jane Fonda 11/24 and 11/25 the Panthers took the cars to drive to a rally in Washington, D.C.
