Sound recording of interview with Alfreda Harris, November 10, 2008, Lower Roxbury Black History Project records, 2007-2009 (M165), Archives and Special Collections Department, Northeastern University Libraries, EH2.Collection finding aid: https://archivesspace.library.northeastern.edu/repositories/2/resources/947An interview with Alfreda Harris (1938-), a resident of Roxbury, the founder and former Administrative Coordinator of the Shelburne Recreation Center, and the former women's basketball coach at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Roxbury Community College, and Emerson College. Harris was also the longest serving member on the Boston School Committee. Harris talks about her childhood, recreation, and experiences mentoring the youth of Lower Roxbury. This interview was collected as part of Northeastern University's Lower Roxbury Black History Project (2007-2009).
