From left to right, the subjects are: Reverend Robert Johnson, assistant pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church; Luther Johnson (photographer), trustee and business manager for the church; J. C. Auston former pastor of Ebenezer Baptist and co-founder of the Steel Valley Bank; Herman Grooms, deacon, in back row; Reverend James B. Casey, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church; Manfred Sales, deacon, on the end. The men had gathered to plan a Men's Day event for the church in the early 1950s. The photograph was published in the Pittsburgh Courier, date unknown. Ebenezer Baptist Church, organized in 1875, was located at 2001 Wylie Avenue in the Hill District.
