Deed of manumission dated December 30, 1845 by Thomas McCrea of the Howard District of Anne Arundel County, Maryland for his Negro man named Jacob Jackson. Witnessed by Justice of the Peace J. (Jacob) Bradenbaugh and recorded by the district clerk (not signed), the document identifies Jacob Jackson as a Negro man age 42 years. (Editor's note: During this time period, Howard County was known as the Howard District of Anne Arundel County. Howard County was officially designated a county in 1851. Blank pages 2 and 3 were not scanned and thus are not included.)
