Dr. Falú describes her encounter with late president Nelson Mandela during a trip she made to South Africa. She recalls this moment as one of the most significant of her life due to the importance that Mandela has to the African and world history. She emphasizes the significance that Mandela gave to the work that was being done outside Africa, especially by the descendants of enslaved Africans.
