Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. On the first page, there is a small checkmark drawn in pencil in the head- spine corner, while above the salutation, the number "257" has also been written in pencil. On the last page, the letter is addressed to "Wm Lloyd Garrison" and under his name is written "H.C. Wright."Nathaniel Peabody Rogers writes to William Lloyd Garrison urging him to visit the White Mountains with him. Rogers describes his plan to "show you the outline of my views at Plymouth & then go with you to the great mountains." He asks Garrison about his family and tells him that he has "had a visitation of cholera" while other family members have been ill with scarlet fever. Rogers also states, "Anti Slavery warfare going on", before discussing the activities of [John] Pierpont. In the postscript, Rogers tells Garrison, "You are the only person ... I love to write to well enough to attempt it."
