Peter Nazareth interview, The University of Iowa, 1990s

Nazareth, Peter

Description

University of Iowa Professor of English and African American world studies Peter Nazareth talks about the conference he attended in Singapore pertaining to literature and Commonwealth Studies. He is interviewed by IWP Program Coordinator, Rowena Torrevillas. There were many former IWP graduates in attendance and Nazareth talks of the impact the program has had across the world. Nazareth talks of the vanishing discrepancy between literary criticism in the West from the East and the approach some critics still take to literature without examining their own preconceptions. He reads from the fiction story he wrote based on his grandfather's story and of his family's reaction.
