Holograph. The signature has been cut out and removed from the letterThe unnamed author of this letter explains that his family resides in New Haven and that he spends a few days with them twice a month. He believes that the ladies are circulating petitions at New Haven, where a society was formed last winter. He names ladies who would be happy to receive communications from Anne W. Weston. There are a few female societies in the state [Connecticut]. He refers Anne Weston to Amos Augustus Phelps for information. When he is in New Haven, he will try to "get the address of your society into the Religious Intelligencer." He trust that "the ladies will be more efficient than the gentlemen have been in Connecticut."
