Description

Deed of manumission dated October 10, 1864 by Jonathan Mulinix of Howard County for his Negro slave named Luther Potts. Witnessed by John W. Cochran, Gapany S. Howes, and Justice of the Peace W. H. Hayword of Baltimore City on October 10 and recorded by Howard County clerk W. W. Watkins on October 20, the document grants Luther Potts his freedom to commence from August 2, 1864, the date of his enlistment in the 28th Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the United States.
