Holograph, signedTitle devised by catalogerLyman W. Gilbert writes to Amos A. Phelps about a vacant post at Broadway Tabernacle Church in New York. Since the church́s minister left for another position, the church society has been in search of a new minister, and Gilbert was asked to write to Phelps and request that he (Phelps) preach there at least twice. People there have a favorable opinion about Phelps. Although Gilbert is not a member of the church, he might join it if Phelps becomes its pastor
