Description

Smoke envelops hotel building and conceals other commercial buildings on the left side of the street. Men crowd the sidewalks. A man on the left appears to be African-American. Fire engines are in the left foreground. Two men carry a third man who appears to be injured. Men in uniform, probably firemen or police, stand nearby. Automobiles are on the right. An electric street light is in the background. Signs read: "Touraine / Restaurant / Italian / & American / Dishes" "Tires / United Tire ..." "...Knight & Whippet Distributors Service Dept." "Greatest / Clearance Sale." Inscribed on back: "Hartford Conn. / Hotel Trumbull fire / see 4/28."
