This folder contains a wide assortment of materials by various authors. Most are from 1965. Some of the materials document the split between the MFDP and a new integrated Democratic Party in Mississippi. Others discuss freedom schools, and the jailing of hundreds of demonstrators in the State Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mississippi, during the summer of 1965. Other items are the following: Volunteer Cornelia Mack's excited August 1964 letter describing freedom schools in Hattiesburg and Palmer's Crossing, Mississippi, and the Freedom School Convention in Meridian. Robert Park's notes describing civil rights workers' 1965 imprisonment at the State Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mississippi. Jane Stembridge's notes on a workshop conducted by Stokely Carmichael at the Work-Study Institute planned by Howard Zinn and others that took place in Waveland, Mississippi, in the spring of 1965.
