First Lieutenant Edwin H. Bryan, carte-de-visite, by Edward P. Hipple, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1860sEdwin H. Bryan rose in the ranks quickly with the 1st Delaware Volunteers. On January 3, 1863, Bryan was made second lieutenant of Company A. He was promoted again on March 2, 1863, to first lieutenant and regimental quartermaster. Bryan’s name appears on an undated roster of survivors of the 1st Delaware Volunteers, and said to be residing in Philadelphia.Currently not on view
