Holograph, signedThis is the fourth letter that William Lloyd Garrison has written his wife, Helen Eliza (Benson) Garrison, and he lovingly chides her for not responding. As he sits at his desk, Garrison mentions a rainstorm outside and wishes that it had rained on the rioters last week. There have been no tidings from George Thompson. Mrs. Thompson is still staying at Mrs. Southwick's home. There was a meeting at (John E.?) Fuller's house to consider Thompson's case. It was decided to defray Mr. & Mrs. George Thompson's expenses to England. Henry Egbert Benson may go to St. John. Garrison hopes to leave Boston in a week.
