This folder contains materials collected by Wally Swan and Lyle Rossman, Swan's partner of twenty four years. Wally Swan ran for a number of public office positions including The Minneapolis Library Board, Minnesota Treasurer, and the Minneapolis Board of Estimation and Taxation, which he won. He is currently an adjunct professor at three institutions and an accomplished author and editor and has published several books. He is also a patron of the arts and was involved with the Penumbra Theater in St. Paul. This folder has materials related to Swan's work with the Penumbra Theater. Penumbra Theater was founded in 1976 to give voice to and a venue for African American theater in the Twin Cities, and specifically playwright Dhana-Marie Branton's work with the theater.
