Description

Photograph of a group of African-American businesspeople. The group consists of Vera Cummings Nash, who is seated in the first row, third person from the left, and three other women seated at a desk. Nine men stand in a row behind the women. There is a large chalkboard behind the group inscribed with a chart that is entitled "If you can bear The Cross you can wear The Crown" at the very top. One woman is poised holding a pen as if writing in the open book in front of her. There is a handwritten note at the front of the photograph that reads, "Hartfield foto".1 photograph : b&w ; 8 x 10 in.
