Lynch, Arlie

Description

voice Collected by Max Hunter (H-12) For Mary C. Parler Transcribed by Frances Majors Sung by Arlie Lynch Rogers, Arkansas August 13, 1958 Reel 257-58, Item 2 A Hymn There's a rift in the clouds, There's a light breaking through; Catch a glimpse, weary one, Of the fair, peaceful blue. Though the rain drops may fall, There is sunshine above, Immortal and sure, As God's infinite love. Chorus: Brother, look, look above; See the sunlight of love Through the rift in the clouds To the fair, peaceful blue. Since our God is the light, He will scatter the night; And he'll bring, yes, he'll bring A sweet morning to you. There's a rift in the clouds, There's a heaven beyond; And the songs of the blessed To our longing respond. There are partings on earth, But reunions up there; And the glory and joy, Trusting soul, you shall share. (Chorus) There's a rift in the clouds, For the Saviour on high And the faith bend towards us From the throne in the sky. We can leave every care To the hands that have bled, And some day for his own He will come as he said. (Chorus) Funding for digitization provided by the Arkansas Humanities Council and the Happy Hollow Foundation.
