Description
She is wearing a sign on her back that reads, "M.C.H.R. Nurse." James Meredith began the march on June 5 in Memphis, Tennessee, but was injured by gunshots shortly after setting out. He was not able to rejoin the march until June 25, the day before it ended in Jackson, Mississippi.
