Holograph, signedTitle devised by catalogerManuscript annotated on recto, with "3" in pencil to the left of Phillips' salutation to the Garrisons, and "Garrison MSS." stamped in blue ink on the top-right of pageManuscript signed "Wendell & Ann Phillips" on versoWendell and Ann Phillips write William Lloyd and Helen Garrison thanking them for their "kind & loving note", and inform them that it is the only New Year's gift which they regard as "a rich one". Phillips writes that though they are "differing on some points", they hold the Garrisons in the highest esteem and they have "been always together in action". Phillips informs William Lloyd Garrison that he has been a greater influence on him than any other save for his mother and his wife
