I realized that a new kind of investment was necessary if we were to attain true democracy. That is why I am proud to address you today. I was headline recently in a Southern Newspaper, which said: "LBJ ACTS LIKE A RESCUE SQUAD FOR ANYTHING THAT AILS U. S." To me, it could not have been placed better or more timely, for that is just exactly what our president is attempting to do. His War on Poverty Program is designed to rescue millions who now live on the outskirts of hope. One proposal of his Federal Poverty Program is vital to the farming people of this country. -more-
