May, Negro recruiting officer of the women's army auxiliary corps for the seventh service command, spent Saturday and Sunday in Ottum-wa on recruiting duty. She spoke at the Mount Zion A. M. E. church and at the Second Baptist church. Lieutenant May emphasized the fact that the WAAC offers Negro women not only an opportunity to help in the war effort but to receive various types of vocational training which will "be of immeas-. urable value to them after the war.
