Commemorative print after the 1851 painting by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze depicting General Washington's famous campaign across the icy Delaware River above Trenton on Christmas Eve 1776. A stoic Washington stands at the head of the lead rowboat surrounded by several of his dedicated men, including a white man soldier holding the American flag and the African American oarsman Prince Whipple, enslaved man and bodyguard to Washington Aide, General William Whipple.
