Button worn on man's lapel bears a portrait of General John Brown Gordon, an illustration of the Southern Cross of Honor and the logo of the J.I. Case Threshing Machine Co. (an eagle perched on a globe, based on the 'Old Abe' mascot of the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment). Printed on button: "Confederate Reunion, June 14-16, 1904 Nashville, Tenn." "Gen. GordonPossibly a portrait of Amos Rucker, a slave who served in the Confederate States Army and later became an active member of the United Confederate Veterans.
