Description

Connie and Wanda begin the interview discussing Wanda’s perception of herself and her experiences attempting to accomplish her goals, and her particular obstacles as a black woman and single mother. They proceed to talk about various stories from the book and what inspired Wanda to write. Connie has Wanda read several passages from the book, and they discuss Wanda’s linguistic development existing in both black and white worlds in Los Angeles, and what she hopes her work will communicate to society. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
