Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper with an embossed logo of a flower in the head- spine corner of each page. Also in the head spine corner, the words "From George Thompson" are written in ink and underlined. Above the salutation, number "129" is written in pencil, while along the fore edge, "1867" has been added in pencil after the date. The folder also contains a stamped envelope addressed to "W.L. Garrison Esq. Trevelyan Hotel Manchester" and is postmarked with a stamp that reads, "London-S, 5, JY 3, 67." The postage stamp is a one penny, "penny red," stamp featuring Queen Victoria. Along one edge of the envelope, the phrase "George Thompson, London, July 3, 1867." has been added in black ink. The envelope is postmarked with a stamp on the verso that reads "C, Manchester, 4 JY67, 02."George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison telling him that although he "feel[s] very unusual today" he will still take the train to meet him in Manchester. Thompson tells Garrison he is "quite certain you will really enjoy your visit to Manchester."
