Description

Jim Robinson was born on December 28, 1933. As a boy he moved upriver from Mississippi and Arkansas with his family to settle in Mississippi County, Missouri, where Mr. Robinson now farms several thousand acres. His father was among the prominent black political leaders in the county, and Mr. Robinson continued this tradition. The following session deals mainly with political dynamics in Mississippi County, but also contains a good deal of other material pertaining to Mr. Robinson's family history, their struggles with racism and discrimination, but ultimately Mr. Robinson's triumphant rise to success as a leader and planter.Oral History Program The State Historical Society of Missouri © 1998 Collection C3929 Politics in Missouri a.c. 239, 240 An Interview with Jim Robinson, Jr. at his home in Pinhook, Missouri 26 October 1998 interviewed by Will Sarvis NOTICE 1) This material is protected by copyright law (Title 17, U.S. Code).
