Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.George Thompson writes to Richard Davis Webb in regards to antislavery information that he came upon in Ramsgate "a fortnight ago" while traveling with Mrs. Thompson. He and his wife came upon Mr. and Mrs. Craft, and they attended their meetings to hear of their escape from slavery in 1848. George Thompson added his own testimony, in an attempt "to convey some idea of the change in public sentiment effected in the Free States by the labours of Mr. Garrison and the American Anti-Slavery Society." He writes of antislavery meetings coming up in various English towns.
