In one photo, they wear matching light-colored suits and stand around a microphone singing. In second photo, they sit posed in matching dark-colored suits looking at something out of the frame to the right.-- Founded in 1930, the Spirit of Memphis Quartet are more a continual concept than a set band. The core of the group was usually lead Jethro Bledsoe, tenor Robert Reed, and bass singer Earl Malone, all of whom joined in the 1930s. [Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide]
