Description
UndatedPreparation was originally collected and mounted by the Army Medical Museum in Washington, D.C. It was transferred to Jeffries Wyman between 1860 - 1874 and formerly resided in his museum. At his death in 1874 Wyman left the preparation to the Boston Society for Natural History who then transferred it to the Warren Anatomical Museum..Inscription: "6693 12-3" Stamped on the bone in red; "6693 12-3 12" written on the underside of the base in pencil. Distal portion of a right femur wired together and mounted on a black wooden base with split metal rods. Bone is from an unidentified soldier injured in the American Civil War.
