Color photographic view of the "Booker T. Washington Monument" located on the Campus of Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. Washington founded Tuskegee Institute in 1881. This site became a National Historic Landmark in 1966. Divided back postcard. Printed on back: 'Booker T. Washington Monument, The "Booker T. Washington Monument" unveiled on April 5, 1922. It was sculpted by Charles Keck. The inscription on the front pedestal reads: "Booker T. Washington 1856-1915.
