Weston, Anti-Slavery Fair, Faneuil HallHolograph, signedThomas Wentworth Higginson regrets that he does not feel prepared to speak [at the anti-slavery fair]. He explains: "I cannot speak extempore with any emphasis or effect, without either a considerable preparation or a very strong stimulus."
