Peppler, Jim

Description

The labels read, "Harvey Sadler for Sheriff of Macon County." Sadler lost his position as sheriff to Lucius Amerson, the first African American to serve in the post. Amerson beat Sadler in the primaries, when both men ran as Democrats, but Sadler supporters staged a write-in campaign during the general election.
