Homer, upon her retirement from The New York Public Library was feted by her many friends, col¬ leagues, and co-workers at the Countee Cullen Branch Library where she was Branch Super¬ vising Librarian for man y years. An outstanding program was presented with George W. Goodman of WTJB as master of ceremonies. Those participa¬ ting were Mrs. Barbara Man¬ ning, soprano; Mrs. Barbara Conrad, soprano, William Branch, playw^right and TV ac¬ tor; Sandra Rivers, pianist. Mrs. Homer was showered with flowers and gifts. A purse from her co-workers w^as presented by Mrs. Jean Godfrey, chief of tiie Circulation Department of The New York Public Lib¬ rary. J^irs. Stella Wright, a well - known sculptress, ar¬ ranged the work' of artist friends in the Library's mez¬ zanine where Mrs. Homer re¬ ceived scores of friends -and colleagues. With her in the re¬ ceiving line were Mrs. God¬ frey and Miss Gertrude Mc- Brown, author and long-tune friend. Amo
