The bear walked up by the side of the road Where that coon could see. That coon got so excited. That he clum up a ' simmon tree. The bear walked out inthe middle of the road The coon clum out on a limb. He placed his eyes to the Lord in the skys And these words he said to him. Dear Lord you delivered Daniel from the lion's den And Jonah from the belly of the whale and then The Hebrew children fromthe firey furnace The good book do declare. Now oh Lord if you can't help me don't help that girzzley bear. collected by Brenda Jo Upton Funding for digitization provided by the Arkansas Humanities Council and the Happy Hollow Foundation.
