Description

COLOPHON: "A number of elements give this book its character, besides the distinctive writing, drawing, and social vision of its negress Author. Three particularly are noteworthy:All pop-up books rely on skillful paper engineering. David Eisen's training and experience as an architect guided his three-dimensional design. The cutting of paper with a burning laser beam makes possible much more precise and intricate paper cutouts than was formerly possible with mechanical die cutting.Old-time fonts have come much into fashion. Many of the best carefully mimic the wavy, broken serif type found in hundred-year-old textbooks and posters. We have used Ransom Group Antique, designed by Kevin Willis and Attic Antique, designed by Brian Wilson. The white paper stock for this book is 130 lb. Classic Crest Cover; the black, 65 lb. Curtis Tuscan Antique Cover; the cover, Bonded Leather with Norwegian finish.
