Emily Herring Wilson speaking at Rotary Auditorium in the J.P. and Mildred Huskins Library on Monday, March 2 at 12:30 PM. She discussed the history of Mitchell Community College and about notable North Carolina women, including Virginia Dare, Harriet Jacobs, Ella May Wiggins, and Mary Martin Sloop. She ended her talk by encouraging the audience to continue to fight against inequity. This program was supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number NC-19-54).
