Description

August 1964 WATS line calls. Though the overwhelming majority of reports have to do with shootings, beatings, surveillance, and harassment, the highlights of this month (though only briefly mentioned) include Pete Seeger's visit; the discovery of the missing civil rights workers' bodies; the Freedom School Convention in Meridian; the unprovoked shooting of Silas McGhee; another bombing in McComb; and the MFDP's attempt to be seated at the Democratic National Convention.
