"NAC drummers and dancers performing with Proposition Theatre in Walter Dallas' production of 'Asafahane.'"--Jim Alexander's annotations.A crowd of dancing women in bright skirts, drumming men, and people holding long, thin poles form a ring around an expressive dancer during a performance of "Asafohene" by the Neighborhood Art Center's house theater troupe, the Proposition Theatre Company, in the Neighborhood Art Center's multi-purpose room. Proposition Theatre presented the show for capacity audiences June 15 and June 22-24, 1978. Director and playwright Walter Dallas ran the Proposition Theatre Company before pursuing successful careers as an off-Broadway director, tenured professor of drama, screenwriter, and artistic director.Title provided by Jim Alexander.
