Description
This image shows the interior of the Morton Theatre in Athens, Georgia. Blue curtains hang on the stage. The ceiling and walls are painted light yellow. The box seats are adorned with blue painted accents. As a primary venue of entertainment for the African American community in Athens, the Morton Theatre hosted some of the most prominent vaudeville, blues, and jazz performers during the first half of the nineteenth century.
