Description
Title devised by cataloger. In this typed copy of a letter to William Lloyd Garrison, Arthur Tappan discusses Theodore Dwight Weld, an "agent of the Manual Labor School Society." Tappan calls Weld, "a young man of very uncommon promise" and suggests that Garrison invite him to speak to at the "approaching Anniversary" of his society. He then asks Garrison about the sale of his "Remarks" (probably his "Thoughts on African Colonization"), offering to help him pay for the printing, and he tells him to send the Liberator to Lane Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio and to Western Reserve College in Hudson, Ohio.
