Description
Extract of letter handwritten by unknown person. Whereabouts of original manuscript unknown.Anne Warren Weston describes a meeting of abolitionists with the committee on the District of Columbia, at which John White Browne was the principal speaker. After him spoke Wendell Phillips, "who as usual did excellently," and then Garrison who excelled himself. "There was a dignity and solemnity about him that must have struck the community."
