In the spring and summer of 1967, the NAACP Youth Council organized several demonstrations in support of Alderman Vel Phillips' Open Housing bill. She had first introduced the bill in 1962, but it was not passed until 1968.Pickets. July 1967. / (25) 12-B / Civil Rights Movement 1967.
