Rev. Fred D. Taylor of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference speaks to the media at the State House following a meeting with Gov. Riley. The SCLC and others are demanding an investigation into the death of Mickey McClinton of Chester. McClinton, a Black youth, was killed after being hit by a car, an event which investigators declared an accident. But protestors believe he was murdered for dating a white woman. Patricia and Elliott Poag, parents of Mickey McClinton, are standing next to Taylor.
