Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed on pale blue paper with two vertical folds and one horizontal fold. Above the salutation there is a small checkmark or letter "v" written in pencil, while under the salutation, the number "185" is also written in pencil.Robert Purvis writes to William Lloyd Garrison concerning "outrageous statements" a "Mr. Douglass in England" made about Purvis. Purvis rejects the claims about his "blood stained riches" and asks Garrison to refute these statements either in the Liberator "or in any way you may deem best a denial of his lying statements."
