Garrison." appearing in pencil on top-left margin of page, and "V 33, P 91A" appearing in pencil on bottom margin of page.Manuscript annotated on verso, with "Eliz. Pease Nichol. Sept. 23, 1864" appearing in pencil in the left-center of page.Elizabeth Pease Nichol forwards to William Lloyd Garrison the sum of £50 as a contribution to the antislavery cause from their mutual friend Thomas Sturge. Nichol opines that the military success of the United States forces against the Confederate rebellion should bode well for Abraham Lincoln's re-election chances.
