Darlington sends to Francis Jackson Garrison the photographs he had promised to deliver, and apologizes for the lengthy delay in the fulfillment of this promise. Darlington offers his hopes that Garrison will accept the photographs as "an earnest of the deep esteem we entertain for thy dear Father and thyself". Darlington reports that the Yearly Meeting was excellent, and states that Garrison and his father were sorely missed. Darlington writes that the passing of Charles Burleigh was noted at the meeting, and that his "devotion to principle" was highly praised at the meeting
