Image of the 1990 mixed-media collage on paper entitled When the Saints Go Marching In, (39 x 54 1/2 in.), by Georgia artist Benny Andrews. The boldly-colored work depicts musicians performing in a jazz club. An image of a saxophonist's silhouette is repeated on each side of the collage. Two trumpet players, one wearing white and one in black, figure prominently in the work.The jazz-club scene in both 1950s Chicago and 1960s New York has inspired Andrews throughout his career.
