Description
Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger. In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan expresses his approval of “the copy” he received from Phelps. He says he will send all the materials for the Dec. 1st issue of the "Union Missionary." He then talks about J. C. Jackson and his excellent addresses at the Liberty Party meetings. Jackson does not think Elizur Wright would make a good editor of the American and foreign anti-slavery reporter. Tappan does not have enough confidence in Wright to make him the sole editor either, but made him an offer to write for the paper.
