Description

Photograph taken looking west from North Front Street at the 1000 block Forrest Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Standing off to the side (left) and in the doorway of the first of these two- and three-story brick row houses are several groups of African American women and children. In front of the first house is an African American man standing and leaning on wooden bed slats. Behind him and in front of the second house are several pieces of wooden furniture cluttering the sidewalk. Two African American women are standing in the doorway of the third house, while two elderly African American men wearing shirts and bow ties are sitting and talking in front of the fourth house. On the side wall of the first house (left) are several old advertising posters, including one for Carlin's, a local amusement park.
